The main weakness in most cabinet refacing jobs is  the way the cabinet boxes are covered. Laminates and paper-thin wood veneers are commonly used in the industry, but in a kitchen environment with lots of heat and steam these adhesive-backed veneers may bubble or blister

To eliminate this problem,  we install  3/16″ thick solid wood on the outside cabinet surfaces. The end result is a cabinet that is virtually indistinguishable from new custom cabinetry.

Here’s our cabinet refacing process:

The cabinet doors and moldings have been removed, leaving just the cabinet boxes. No need to worry about emptying the cabinets.

These cabinet frames will be covered with  3/16″ thick solid cherry. We use precision woodworking equipment fitted with a dust collection system and all the cutting is done outside to keep any dust and noise away from the living area.
